We’re eating some nice sirloin tonight so here’s my tips on the best way to grill a sirloin steak.

The whole family loves the steak marinade that we’ve used in the past but we’re running short on it so we’re going to use 3 different methods on the steaks tonight.

1st Tip for Great Sirloin Steaks: let the meat warm up for a bit. You’ll get a better taste if you don’t throw the staek on the grill directly from the fridge.

We’ve got 1 steak for Mom that’s got a Montery pepper rub on it. Too spicy for my likes but she loves it. 2nd sirloin has a marinade that’s very similar to soy sauce on it. Hunk of meat #3 is going au natural. We’ll add a little salt just to make it interesting.

2nd Tip for Great Steaks: Get that grill nice & hot before you put the steaks on. You’re looking for a nice sizzle when the steak hits the grate. Shoot for 350 degrees or better.
Bonus tip: Rub a little olive oil on the grill before it’s too hot. That’ll help prevent the meat from sticking.

3rd Tip for Great Steaks: Let it grill. Don’t keep flipping the steak. A single grill mark will give it the look of a champion sirloin. Keep the cover closed so that the heat stays with the meat.

Last Tip for Great Steaks: Pull the steaks off an put them in a covered pan. Sirloin doesn’t really need to rest as long as a turkey or chicken but your sirloin steak will be juicier if it rests for at least a few minutes before you cut it.

Our steaks all came out great. Sandra & Reagan liked the peppered sirloin the best. Trent & Kendall were all about the salty marinade steak. My favorite was the simple sirloin with a little salt.
